Turner Falls Adventures

Well lets just start with the fact that I know without a doubt that I HATE CAMPING. This was so not what i would even consider in the realm of "fun". I think this would be more suited for one of the seven circles of hell, and that's just what this was for me. HELL. I was already not feeling up to par for all of Friday. I pushed through the work day and came home and got as packed up as I could get us. Only to find out that for $20 more we COULD have gotten a cabin but lets just leave that alone because UGH!!!. Moving on. We get there, and we have a little bit of daylight left which I wanted to used to get the tent set up but was overruled because "we" wanted to drive around the park and see it some. So Robb who, apparently had lost all common sense couldn't be bothered to actually try to help put the tent together and just stood there like a dummy while I am trying REALLY heard to figure this out. Or as he would say, "waiting on instruction". I dont really know when helping was to be ASKED for from your husband but anyhow. Jessica and Nick got a good laugh out of our "old married couple" argument on getting this tent put together.  After many snaps and being so beyond annoyed we had the tent up. There were so many freaking bugs and we were already getting bugs in the tent we just called it a night. So around 10 pm it was just Robb and I in this Tent. Now it was a very nice, very large tent and we had an air mattress, and thank goodness because we were on top of a TON of rocks.  Anyhow, I watch WAY to many scary movies to sleep outside. I just do. Also nature is so LOUD. I mean its like they (the creatures) were TRYING to make me deaf. every little noise I was looking around and super alert. Of course Robb was out in no time, while I was up ALL night. ALL NIGHT. I didn't get even a minuet of sleep. I couldn't fall asleep. On top of all the stupid nature sounds it was so beyond windy the tent was almost blown all the way over and it started to raining, to which Robb had said its not going to rain there are no clouds. I don't know how many times I woke him up to try to get him to make me feel safe but it wasn't enough. I was praying for the night to be over so we could get up and get out of there. I think my two favorite quotes from this failed attempt at camping was "We are so not buying a tent" and " Do we want to go to the beach or do we want to get a divorce" both from Robb. The first one is funny to me because I have no clue where he would have EVER thought I would want to own a tent. I mean no, just no. and the second he heard me wrong but it was still funny to us nonetheless.  I had actually said in my state of trying to pretend we were on the beach and not outside with creatures and physio killers all around us " Do we want to go to the beach or get new floors". Poor Michael he was getting texts from me until pretty late, mostly because I knew he would still be up and because I was not going to be sleeping at all. This is pretty much how most of the texting went:
There was more in between but you get the idea, I was freaking out.

So when morning finally DID arrive I was awake and ready to get going on the actual fun part of out day. It was fun, we found some pretty cool caves and rock formations. Climbed so so so many stairs, ate some pretty great food, swam, watched Robb play in the water, took pictures with the waterfalls. I guess you cant say that it wasn't an successful camping trip because I DID have a good time during the day and I am still alive.  I am however still very tired, sore in places I didn't know I was able to be sore and so so burnt. I always enjoy getting to be with Jessica and seeing her happy and having a good time, and I even pushed my self to climb to and around heights I wouldn't normally do. I am still going to say that it was more of a Camping-1 Lacey-0. Also NEVER AGAIN. Anyhow here are some Pictures from our little adventure.

This was right after we laid down before I was forced to turn out the flash lights.

In the morning with Robb totally out. While its raining on us.

Yes I had to take a picture of our tent as this will not be happening again. See all those Rocks we were on.

Our little group after we had packed everything back up and about to start our hiking for the day.
Neat little natural arch in the rocks. This was after we climbed through a cave.

The Castle we explored. Which was FULL of spiders and stairs. I think the man who owned this place must have been so in shape. We were dying by the time we walked all the stairs in this little gem.

I loved this area, it was just so pretty, the water was really clear too. Clear and FREEZING cold.

I promise he isn't sweating that bad we had just gotten rained on again.

Robb behind the waterfall you see behind us in the pic above this one.

Yep even I made it out there. I also have a nice scratch to show for it as well.

Relaxing a bit before Robb went back to playing in the "Blue Hole Swimming Area"

And on the way home Out like a light again. I swear he can sleep anywhere. I wish I could!

My battle wound, it doesn't look like much but it hurts pretty bad and its raised up pretty big too. Gonna be a nice bruise.
and just for fun some of Robbs dives. I swear once he gets into the water he turns into a child again. Its pretty cute to watch. I don't really know what else to say about the weekend. I am so not ready for the week to start again but we have a lot of fun things coming up next weekend and I am REALLY looking forward to those. For now, I am going back to bed.

12.   Tulsa Convention with the Walking Dead Cast November8th ( 134 days)

1.       I just posted about below.

2.       I look forward to this every year. It’s a free show Kyle’s family puts on, and they go all out. They have so much food and drinks and they make shirts for you there. It’s really a blast; I have invited my mom, Jessica, her kids, her boyfriend and his kid and Krystal all to go with us this year. It’s going to be so much fun! Plus this night and the next 4 nights I will be house sitting for Grandma.

3.       I LOVE Wicked! This will be my 3rd time to see the show. Robb’s second!  My friend from High school, Brian is coming into town just for the show as well and we will all go to dinner after wards.  And Krystal is going to come too! It will be her first show! I can’t wait for her to see this.

4.       I so cannot wait to see this show again. I have been watching all the youtube videos people have been posting and all the Twitter, Instagram and Facebook post as well. And this time we will be VIP so we will be SO close! Plus it will be a fun little weekend away for Robb and I!

5.       Ohh man, so many things I can say about Michael Buble. Grandma got me hooked on him so long ago, and we have gone to his concerts together from here on out. This year she bought the tickets for us and it will be Robb’s first MB concert! I cannot wait! The last show of his we went to was the night I knew I was in love with Robb, so this one really means a lot to me!

6.       As much as I am loving the Blonde in my hair it is also somewhat orange ish, so I am looking forward to going back dark, I am thinking of an burgundy color with teal peekaboo’s mixed in. Jacque thinks it will be awesome so I think I will go for it!

7.       Carissa and I have been counting this down for over a year now!  We pretty much started as soon as we left the con last year. We are going BIG this year, well as big as our budget allows us to do. We do not plan on going next year so we want to make the most of it this year.  This has been the topic of almost all our conversations lately. I can’t believe how close it is getting!

8.       My sweet Hubby is going to be 36!! We still don’t have set in stone plans for his big day yet but we HAVE been talking about Jamaica!? Fingers crossed we do this… I did however tell him if we DIDN’T schedule this soon then it will be changed to finishing out the new flooring in our home, either way I think it will be a win for us.

9.       Yes I know this is a silly countdown to have but I love this show. (side bar I wish Friends was still on, that is and always will be my number one show) I am thinking we need to have a premier party this year as well! We shall see.

10.   Meh, Robb has already bought my gift for this, my SUPER awesome signed poster of the Friends cast (yes the entire cast, Jennifer Aniston IS my best friend you know lol) so I think we will just get a little group together and go eat at Bonefish Grill, that’s my current favorite restaurant!

11.   I really hope we do this; we will also be taking Krystal with us when we go she has never been to NYC, if we go. And I have wanted to see Boyce Avenue in Concert for SO LONG plus getting to see Central Park in the fall just seems SOOO pretty to me. Plus all the yummy food and all the sights. It should make for a great little trip.

12.   Finally we have the Tulsa Convention, I haven’t really bought as many thing for this yet, been focusing on the TVD Con, but once that is done we will start getting some more from this con. We currently have photo ops with Norman Reedus and Scott Wilson, honestly if that’s all we do this day I will be just fine with that. Plus this will be so close to home which will be so nice! I can’t wait for TWD to come back on TV. This is one of our other favorite shows!  Even the ladies at work and I talk about this show all the time. It’s so crazy.

We have so many wonderful things coming up! I just wanted to get them all down so I can look back and remember how excited I was at this point in our life.

Side note, this past weekend we went to see Emily! It was a short trip but we had a good time, and got to see their new home and spend some time with Liam for his 4th birthday party. I am sad I didn’t get a pic with that little guy. But here are the only two pics we took while we were there. I love me some Emily time! And it makes me happy that she and I are still so close even with the new distance between us. It’s really amazing how you can live so close to someone and never actually see them, you don’t really FEEL the distant till it’s really an issue.

        Melissa,Emily with Sutton and I
                   Besties for ever!!

So... Camping... Yeah that's about to happen...

Let’s just start with the facts here.  I am not a camper. I do not like bugs or sleeping outside. I just don’t. I mean we have homes and beds for a reason. I have tried to camp one other time in my life and it ended up with us calling the boys to come get us and we stayed at their house and grilled out and then we floated the river the next morning. Yes it ended up be a quite nice weekend.  But I was like 22 then as well, and now in the very old age of 28 (almost 29 sadly) I am just not really up for the whole sleeping outside thing. But I am going to attempt to do so this weekend. My Pretty Friend Jessica and her Boyfriend found this place in OK, called Turner Falls, it’s about 4 hours from us. And it honestly looks really pretty. They have a waterfall, castle and swimming holes with lots of hiking trails. My friend Jo from work has let us borrow her tent and air mattress as well so I think other than the Wal-Mart trip we will have to maketonight we should be fairly set. But this will for sure be an adventure for me. I do think we will have fun. We always do when we spend time with Jessica. And it’s been some time overdue that’s for sure, so a full 24 hours with her will be so nice.  I will do my best to recap how it went when we get back. Her boyfriend has a child so he is on a time restraint so we will only officially be camping for ONE night. (Insert happy dance here) Yes I know that’s a LOT of work to just stay one night but hey it gives me Sunday to get back to center from roughing it.

Just a quick little update on the weekend we are about to have. Until next time!

Xoxo

Ipsy treats and more

So I don’t know if you have heard of Ipsy yet or not but if you haven’t and you are a girl you should really check it out. I love it! I had started getting Birchbox (I still do) when my pretty friend Emily told me about Ipsy. I think now that I have been getting both for a while I can officially say I like Ipsy a LOT better.  For $10 a month you get several beauty items and a super cute make up bag. This month’s bag I think has been my favorite so far. And I have used every single item I was sent today.

I didn’t have time to do anything to my hair this morning as I was up late and there for running late to work, so I grab this new “beach waves” spray and went after it, I have to say I like this super simple super-fast hair style and it smells amazing! Now if I only had some sand.  I was out of Mascara so this was a great item for me to get, I love the gloss it’s so shinny and just the lightest shade of such a girly pink, and feels so smooth.  I also almost always fill in my eyebrows with a dark eye shadow so this actual brown eyebrow pencil was fun to play with this morning, and the perfume smells great! I am the Ipsy queen today! I even used a dual eye shadow and blue liquid eye liner from last month’s ipsy to finish it off.  I’m not all up to the 9’s but I have a pretty natural look going today. I feel pretty good about it.  So really if you want to sample new items and cute super cute make up bags you should get a subscription to this!

Not the greatest pic but you get the hair look and other items.

Also I have recently found on Instagram that the Hough sibling’s sister has a new clothing line called Ari & Adi. Which is SUPER cute, I ordered a pair of pants from her a few weeks ago and just got them in the mail last night. I was super excited. And boy howdy are these suckers super comfortable. Its honestly like wearing PJ’s, I wanted to get in this pair and wear them for a bit before I decided if I needed this other pair I saw and really liked.  So far everyone at work has really liked them as well. I am pretty short so I have to wear them WITH heels but that’s ok it makes my legs look a lot longer.  I plan to wear either these or the new pair I think I am going to order to the show again in July. You know REALLY show my support for their family. Haha I know I am a nerd!

                    This is their logo
Example of some of their pants, which are going fast they have had two rounds of sale outs already. I bought those black and white ones.
Trying them on last night and outfit at work today!

These are their "Harem" style pants and those blue ones are the ones I'm looking at getting next! Ohh also all the pants have pockets!! She also has some pretty cute lace shorts and skirts but I'm more of a pants person. I like to sit Indian style in my work chair I can't really do that in a skirt.

Welp that’s it for today, just wanted to share my newest little items/finds. Much love to all! XOXO

Whirlwind Weekend

This is us right before we headed West
We had a beautiful sun set on the way out too. Followed by an awful storm

I had every intention of writing this post last night, clearly that didn’t happen. I guess I was still too tired to do much of anything as I was asleep before 6pm and didn’t wake up at all until my alarm this morning at 6:45am. I would say I very much needed the rest.

Robb has been talking about taking me to see the Grand Canyon for a really long time now. I have always had an excuse or reason to not go, such as “it’s just a stupid hole in the ground”.  This wasn’t at the top of my list of Vacation Hot Spots.  With Robb’s new schedule he gets every other Friday off and this last Friday was one of those off days, so he said for me to take Friday off and we would go.  I finally agreed if we could take the extra 4 hours to hit Vegas while we were out. He agreed to those terms so we set out.

We started Thursday night, after stopping at mom’s restaurant for dinner; you know we wanted to get in a good meal before so many hours in the car. Robb tends to drive all night, once light hits it’s my turn to drive.  I drove us into Flagstaff, AZ (I think that was what that city was called) we stopped at the Petrified National Park to see the Painted Desert and the petrified wood; it was a pretty neat little drive. All still in the car however but was a very pretty place to see.

                The Painted Desert
I loved this sign lol yes I know I should have pointed

                   Petrified wood

Once we left the Park it was off to Winslow, AZ. Robb even made me listen to the Eagles song; Take it Easy, so I could “get” the statue. Let me tell you they are PROUD of that song. It’s like that whole Town is all about it. Such a small claim to fame and they were milking it for everything it was worth.  I will say they have a Mexican Restaurant there called The Brown Cup or something like that and if you go you HAVE to eat here. It was by far the BEST I have ever had. I would drive back right now just to get that again.  I mean real authentic Mexican food with real green chilies. Man it was awesome.  My mouth is watering just thinking about it. I am pretty sure I kept saying how good it was after we left for a good hour or so.

Standing on a corner in Winslow, AZ

From Winslow to the Grand Canyon felt like the longest part of the drive. I don’t really know what I was expecting but at least I can say I have seen it now, Robb had to stop at every little turn off and there were SO many people there. I am also scared to death of heights so it wasn’t exactly a walk in the park for me to be out there.  I still think it’s just a HUGE hole in the ground but it was very pretty. We stayed here for quite some time, almost to sundown, leaving with a bit of a sunburn as well. We stopped to fill up again, (Robb’s Juke doesn’t hold as much gas as my car so we had a LOT more gas stops then we were used to) grabbed some water and a snack to hold us over for the drive to Vegas.

On the way to Vegas, I jumped on Travelocity to get us a Hotel, and the best deal was for one night at the “super classy” Hooters Hotel and Casino. It was very close to the strip too so it was a pretty good find. It was about 2am I think when we finally got there. The plan was to sleep for a few hours and then get up and enjoy the Vegas Night life. Robb I guess had been thinking about it for a while said we would have ALL of Saturday to spend on the strip and wouldn’t have to really leave until about midnight so we could sleep longer.  So we did, I got up at 7am and started getting ready, then once I was out of the shower I got Robb up to get around. We had mentioned a show but nothing was really set in stone for that, so I didn’t think too much of it. And Then Robb showed me he had found some really good seats to Shania Twain’s show ( which we had planned to see for Valentine’s but never did) I told him it was up to him because he hadn’t really planned on it and it wasn’t exactly in the budget, but he BOOKED the show.  Yes I teared up. I have loved her since I was like 5 years old.  Show was at 7:30 so we had a full day of Vegas to see ahead of us. So we checked out of our hotel, loaded back up and went to breakfast.  Robb was all about the “cheap steak” meals in Vegas, So we had Steak and eggs for breakfast, this was fun for me because I have never actually had steak for breakfast.

            Our room for the night
View from our last minuet room straight to NY,NY

I had always wanted a pic with this sign

                        Breakfast

After Breakfast was done we drove to the parking garage of New York, New York and enjoyed quite some time in this casino (it’s my favorite). I am so not a gambling person, I feel like I work too hard for my money to lose it that fast, but we were in Vegas and wanted to play the penny slots.  So we played a few machines here and there and then I found a Michael Jackson one.  I was in love, I HAD to play this game, I just had too, Robb said it was “too rich for his blood” because the minimum bet was .60 cents.  But I didn’t care; to me it would be worth every penny. And man was it.  I was smiling the WHOLE time I was on it, AND I got to a bonus round and won 46.80 on it. Cashed out and that was what we gambled with the whole rest of the day. (We still left 21$ ahead too, I will call that a WIN) We really did play so many slots, I played a Grease themed one and a Titanic one, Robb played The Walking Dead one, it was so much fun! We walked pretty much the entire strip.  Then we went into the Mirage because I wanted to see what the Dolphin stuff was about, (we didn’t end up having time to see that) but we did pass this store called The Art of Music, such a cool store!  They had so many items signed by famous people and they were all framed and put together really well.  They even had this huge display of ALL the presidents with their signatures, Robb had to ask even if they were all real, that sucker was for sale too at a whopping $200,000. THAT was a little Rich for my blood, even with their 50% off sale on framed items.  BUT I did find one that was a poster of the show FRIENDS, which is my ALL TIME Favorite show ever for sale signed by the whole cast! (Jennifer Aniston is my best friend ya know ;) ) I had to have this, but we were a tight time schedule at this point and had to get to our car and get to the show. We also hadn’t ate anything in the longest time. So we left… On the walk back to our Car I told Robb if we got that it could be for my Birthday AND Christmas so he said we could talk about it.

         Playing the MJ slot machine!

We grabbed an appetizer at a restaurant called America in NY,NY then headed to see Shania! It was SUCH a good show, and when she walked over to the side she was SOOO close to us! I cried, a lot. It was amazing, we weren't allowed to take Pictures or videos so I don’t really have any to show, Robb tried to sneak a few and that didn’t work out so well. But I KNOW I saw it and I loved every minute of it.  Once the show was over I bought a $5 magnet to have as a souvenir of the show and she had some of her more famous outfits displayed so we looked at all of those and we got to see her Grammy’s and ACM’s.  When we left it was decided that I COULD get that picture from The Art of Music store. So Excited.

Some of her awesome wardrobes :)
Last three pics are NOT mine found on Instagram from people who were closer and braver on taking photos but they are great so I wanted to share with you as well :)

The cool thing other than getting to have this super awesome picture was Robb got to meet that kid from Modern Family while we were in there checking out. He NEVER asks for autographs or a picture so it was a pretty big deal to see him ask for a pic with him. And Ricco was so cool and nice.  Once we got the picture all loaded up we went to Jerry’s Nugget which was pretty far off the strip past “Old Vegas” to have another Steak Dinner, at about 2 am.  It was so good, but I was so tired at this point I could hardly sit up. This day FLEW by. Then in an attempt to sleep on the way out I laid UNDER the picture on the folded down back seats,  it was NOT comfortable and I  already have a hard time sleeping in a car but I was so exhausted at that point I didn’t care.  I woke up to us stopped at a gas station with Robb asleep, so I woke him up and had him drive over to the gas station, got me some 5 hours and coffee and took over driving.

                  Robb and Ricco

Now we were going to see Breaking Bad locations, this isn’t really my show but it IS one of Robb’s favorite shows, so I didn’t rush him, and told him I wanted him to see all the things there he wanted because he always sees all the TVD stuff for me.  So we stopped at this candy store that was known to have made all the “prop meth” for the show, and all the main houses and then we ate at this place called Twisters because it was a place they used on the show. Robb had a good time. The only sucky part was the more time we were here the later we would get home.  Worth it but man it was so late.  I drove after the Breaking bad stuff till it got dark, plus we got hit by a HUGE storm so I was having a really hard time seeing, which was kind of funny because we got stuck in a REALLY bad storm on the way out Thursday night too.  We didn’t get home till about 3am and then Daisy showed us how she felt about us being gone that long and peed on the bed, so I had to strip the bed down and remake it so we could FINALLY go to bed.

Our attempt of sleeping in the back
Us in front of the Break Bad house

Yes I went to work Monday morning so very tired. When we got home Monday the only goal was to get my AMAZING Friends picture hung, and then bed. Followed by work Tuesday and then of course falling asleep so early last night. I guess this trip took more out of me than I thought. But it was SO worth it. We had so much fun, and it was so needed. I already can’t wait to go back to Vegas.  Gosh this was such a fun trip! Other than the Bahamas, I think this was one of my favorites.

            Before my new picture
                   After!!! Love it!!!

Much love to All! XOXO
