Tulsa is getting a Convention

So our local new paper did a story on the convention that is coming to Tulsa. It's going to be featuring 5 main cast members of The Walking Dead. Do you watch that show? It is so crazy and right up at the top of my list of favorite TV shows. Last year when we did the tour of Mystic Falls we also took in a few filming locations from The Walking Dead on our way back home. Which was super fun! We even got to see "Woodberry" signs still up in the area where that whole location was filmed. So back to the convention that will be here. I haven't been into conventions for all that long. I only went to my first one last year and woah! It was so much fun, super nerdy but so fun. What can I say I am forever a true nerd at heart, I totally geeked out. So I think this is going to be the first ever convention IN Tulsa, at least for this type of thing. Robb had mentioned this one to me a few months ago because Scott Wilson AKA "Hershel" was going to be in attendance. If you don't watch the show then I don't want to give anything away but let's just say I LOVE him! In addition to him Norman Reedus AKA "Darryl" will be there too! Pretty much love him as well.

With the Tulsa World telling everyone about it and this being one of the biggest shows right now, we felt we needed to take action as to not miss out on our two favorites from the show. So today I snagged some tickets. We just want to see these two so there wasn't any need to get a VIP or 3 day pass type of thing, I just purchased the two photo ops and 2 Saturday day passes. Sadly this isn't until November 8th of this year so we still have a LOT of time between now and then, maybe a few others from our show will sign up but for now we are super stocked with what we will be getting to do. And compared to the cost of the TVD convention we feel like we are getting this for a steal at about $230. We decided we would split the cost as we both actually wanted to do this one.... I think me a bit more than Robb because he tries to act "too cool" sometimes but I know he geeks out too. Ohh gosh I cannot wait to hug Scott Wilson. He just has the kindest face and voice ever.

If you watch the show and want to go too here is the link http://www.wizardworld.com/home-tulsa.html (I'm nice like that :) )

There are going to be several other actors in attendance, like James Marsters, and if this were 10 years ago I would be super geeking out but alas I feel I am past my "Buffy" period. But if my friend Michael decides to grab his pic and you know wants me to take the pic with him I wouldn't be rude. ;) ( sorry I am cracking myself up )

So yeah that's happening for sure now! And shortly after we do this it will be Robb and I's FOUR year anniversary!

Until next time! XOXO

Cancer SUCKS and other things

Today is February 25th, 2014, 3 days before my grandma’s 70th birthday, the second day of my new position at work, 164 days away from the Dallas TVD Convention with Carissa and lastly 12 days of knowing that my favorite person in the entire world has breast cancer.

That is a brief summary of what I think I will cover in this post. Forgive me if it’s a bit all over the place. Let’s start with the job….

Two weeks and 2 days ago I accepted a new job with a new company. I was just over FATA. I wasn't getting it as well as I felt I should, I felt like I was such a burden to everyone there and that it would just be easier to leave.  Apparently they didn’t like that idea and completely changed my position and manager to get me to stay. So I had to call (and I felt so bad) to tell the other company I wouldn’t be coming over after all and that I was sorry.  So this Monday I started the new position. Lord have mercy, the animosity between my previous closer and supervisor has made for a very hard two days.  Luckily my new supervisor and her team love me.  I am hoping the ice chips off the other two ladies soon. I mean I would hate to have to actually do my job as well. (that was sarcastic in case you missed it.)

The TVD Convention is coming back to Dallas but for 3 days this time! Carissa and I are of course going to go. We had such an amazing time last time! I cannot wait to go again. It’s like you step into this dream world of your favorite TV show! Plus to get to actually touch Ian and the others just makes it so much more real. I know I sound like a tween but I have to have at least one vice and this is most defiantly it. Robb loves and hates it, well mostly hates but he likes the show as well. But it is not the cheapest hobby.  We have already spent upwards of $700 on it with I am sure more $100s to go. The hotel isn't even paid for yet so I can guarantee you this 3 day weekend will run about 2k. Worth every penny! Plus we have quite some time to slowly acquire our wants. Move over Elena I am coming for the boys!!

Speaking of Conventions, did you know that there is going to be one in Tulsa? It will have a bunch of people I couldn't care less about BUT there WILL be 5 people from The Walking Dead, which is another favorite show! So I am hoping to try and hit this one to. It’s in November so we still have quite some time. But I would so LOVE to snag a pic with Darryl and Hershel while they are in town. (Those are the character names, I can’t think of their real names at the moment.)

The other two items mentioned go together. My grandma means the WORLD to me. She has ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS been here for me. I cannot believe she will be 70 on Friday. I don’t know why but time just stopped for me when she turned 54. I have always just said she was 54 from that point on. So to say 70 is just crazy. The scary thing is that she found out she has Breast Cancer.  She told me on Feb 12th. She sounded ok with it. I didn’t take it well. I cried myself to sleep. There are MANY positives though. They found it super early on and she has a 98% chance of everything being just fine. She will go back to the Dr. Tomorrow to schedule out her 1st surgery. If the lab work from that comes back clear she will undergo 6 weeks of radiation. Let’s all just pray this is how this turns out for her.  What I think sucks the most is this is going to put her wedding on hold. She was so excited about this. I just hate everything about this for her. I don’t want my grandma to be sick. She has to live to be 250. I truly do not know what I would do without her.  A nice silver lining to this story is that she and Tony will be moving to our neighborhood. He is going to by her a NEW home. This is pretty much our home (our floor plan)  but with all the upgrades. I won’t lie I am a bit jealous. But if anyone deserves a nice thing right now it’s her.  I am SO grateful to Tony for making this dream of hers come true. Plus the fact she will be so close to us is just amazing. Now if she needs anything we will only be down the street from her. It Works out nicely. It won’t be done until May but I am on pins and needles waiting!!

Just a few more things, this past weekend we went an impromptu dance night. That was a lot of fun; it was with and at the place we have our Thursday night classes for West Coast Swing. Then Saturday I helped Krystal make a banner for her sister’s bachelorette party coming up this weekend. That is this coming Saturday and I am already dreading the “having to go out and party”. I am so old. I am excited for her and I want to be there for her but can’t I just be there in spirit.  I know I am awful. And I know it will be fun once the night starts but I like to be in at an old woman’s time.  Yes, my name is Lacey and I am 28 going on 200, I know this moving on!

As we all know my mom is living with us, and you know I just wish you could see my mom and my husband on a daily basis, I really think they could have a show. It’s so flipping funny.  Anyhow, Mom broke a tooth, like REALLY bad and she needs to have it pulled. So I contacted my dentist, who is the best dentist EVER to see what he would charge because she doesn't have insurance, she typically goes to the Indian clinic but it’s in Okmulgee and she has a job now and works ALL THE TIME so it’s not easy for her to go. But our wonderful dentist is going to half the cost with us so it will be cheaper for my mom!!! How awesome is that!!!??  I know that is such a small thing but it really means a lot to me. We really love our dentist. And according to him we are his favorite coupleJ.

That is going to be it for tonight, Robb is making a cake for Kyle’s 1 year with the company and it is loud so I am having a hard time focusing on my blog. Plus The Originals is on and I need to go watch it! Love to all! XOXO

Gifts are fun!

They say it is always better to give than to receive, and I truly 100% believe this.  Luckily I get to be on both sides of that coin at any given time. I had a pretty hard day at work yesterday so we had an impromptu game night. Which is always a blast especially when I win! (sorry boys) I don't really think I should be as excited as I get when I am able to "out-nerd" my boys.  I am so blessed to have the friends I do. Even if some are far away, live far away or will be far away they are and forever will always only be a call away. I know that if I needed any one of my closest friends they would come in a heart beat. I love them to death. Lizzi, Emily, Leah, Carissa, Krystal and Candice are among my favorite girls. I like to call them my some of my very best friends. Some new, some old but all amazing. I also have some great guy friends. Stu, Kyle, Michael and my husband. Yes I know he is my husband but he is also one of my very best things. I cant even tell you how many times I have done something super fun WITH Robb and then think  "OMG I cant wait to tell Robb what I just did" Haha I know its silly but it really happens, Maybe I am losing it a bit in my older age. Robb and Michael have been around forever. Michael and I have a special relationship to say the least. We fight and don't talk for extended amounts of times over silly things and then come back together like we were never mad. I guess after what 10 years of this I have come to think of him as a brother to me. So on the topic of Michael, he also spoils me. ( this goes back to the coin I get to be on both sides of) He used to do so way more but with life changes and what not things then to well change. But every now and then he really steps up and makes me feel so loved. Last year for Valentines day he got me a signed Valentine from Joseph Morgan ( Klaus on TVD and now The Originals), for Christmas he got me the FRIENDS Scene It? Game, which i had asked for like FOREVER ago! I was so super shocked and over joyed. He has also gotten me a super cool Buffy shirt and a Big Bang Theory shirt. However THIS year for Valentines day and what I just got in the mail tonight ( Which is why I wanted to write about it) Michael got me the Nicholas Sparks Collection DVD set. I LOVE this author and I LOVE LOVE his movies! The Notebook of Course is my favorite but I truly Love them all. ( Poor Robb is going to have to re-watch them all with me!) Anyhow here are a few pictures of the sweet things :) I love you all but yes I realize this is a Michael Heavy post. I love him too!
This is a picture from FOREVER ago but just to show how far back we go.

This is my fun Buffy Shirt!!!

YAY RomCom Movies!!!

and the always awesome BBT shirt!

JoMo Valentine, I may have purchased the Ian one myself, Yes I KNOW i'm 12 thank you very much!!

That's all for tonight!
until next time!

Crystal Cove Bed and Breakfast

So the weekend of Valentines has finally come and gone. We had our sweet little getaway. We choose to return to the Bed and Breakfast that we spent our honeymoon and 1st year anniversary. We just love this place. It melts all my stress away and its just so beautiful and peaceful. Plus the beds are so comfortable and the breakfast is to die for. So yummy!

The night we checked in, to which I know Robb was super staling on time, I walked into this:

Is that so sweet. He has this done for me on our anniversary too! When we turned on the jets it turned into bubble city. So we didn't have those on very long but we very much enjoyed the strawberries and chocolates and the delicious sparkling apple cider.

Robb pouring the yummy cider! I thought this was so cute! Plus see all the bubbles it was insane!

It was a wonderful night :)

Then in the morning we went down to breakfast which was so so good!
Yeah my mouth is watering just looking at this picture again!
Adter breakfast we went back to our room and enjoyed the fireplace and just lounged around almost the entire day!
I miss this place already! If you haven't been you really should go. We were in the antique train suite this go round.
View from the doorway. I took several pictures to share and to also help remind me of all the things I love about this wonderful place.
This is where we have breakfast in the mornings. Isn't it pretty?

On the other side of the table is this little area depending on the time of year it has different little items you can purchase.

This was the view from our room door. You can see clear down to the water.

This was our cabin, Robb is in our doorway and the sweet old man was in the other.

Right out the door or on the way to the breakfast area is this pretty little waterfall.

It still has some ice but the fish were still moving around!

Robb Loves this little weather rock and wanted me to post it on the blog :)

Just past the rock is the top of the waterfall, which is very pretty too!

This is the little coffee and sweets cabin, its open 24/7 and full of goodies

View of the inside. We enjoyed some coffee and waters and I went to town on the chex mix from here.

This was our breakfast this morning and just as amazing as the previous morning. I mean really go for the food alone.

If you fallow the road all the way down you run into Table Rock Lake :) So peaceful!

AND we had our palms read! This was fun and all good news! Lets hope the things we were told come true :) Also we went to the outlets and shopped a bit and Robb even bought me some new clothes!!

that little black sheer tank has Paris destinations on it! I think its my fav!

I am sad the weekend is over but so thankful it happened. We really needed to reconnect and this really just hit the spot. I am now back home in my P.J's with my little Daisy. Plus I still have tomorrow off!
Until next time!
XOXO

I highly recommend a stay here!

Do you remember the movie “UP”?

This sweet little old man at our bed and breakfast this past weekend reminded me of him.  On our first morning there for breakfast he had this sweet smile on his face and even went around and refreshed everyone’s coffee.  Typically the owner of the Inn who also makes THE best breakfasts does this. Anyhow as he (the owner) was handing out all of our breakfast plates he asked if it was just him (the sweet old man) this morning to which he simply replied “yes” .  We didn't think much more of it, I mean maybe his wife wanted to sleep in or wasn't feeling well but other than remembering how sweet he was it was the end of it. I think I mentioned to Robb once that he reminded me of my grandpa a bit, he just looked like one of those grandpas you want to hug.
On our second morning I didn't want to be the last ones down for breakfast so we headed down at 8:50 am verses 9 am when it “starts”. Sweet old man was the second one there and it was just him again. We talked to him for a bit and found out he was from the Tulsa area like us. He even sat in the same place as the previous morning.  We all had another amazing breakfast and talked to everyone, asked the owner a few questions about the inn.  Everyone was just chatting away. Then a few started to leave and it was down to us, another couple, sweet old man and the owner. I don’t even know how it was brought up but the sweet old man said that he was there to relive some memories he had of Brandon With his wife and that tomorrow (02/17) was the 1 year anniversary of his wife passing.  As he was taking about it his voice cracked a few times and my eyes welled up with tears. We had to excuse ourselves. When we got back up to our room I just started crying. This just really broke my heart. I felt so awful for him. This poor old man was alone on Valentine’s Day surrounded by couples. He is so much stronger than I ever could have been.  I kept telling Robb it wasn't fair. And that I just hated this for him and I wish I could give him a hug. Come to find out his cabin was the one right next to ours.

Finally I just asked Robb if he would be upset if I told the owner I wanted to buy his room for the night. Robb said not at all and to just tell them to charge it to the card we have on file. So I ran down to the breakfast area to find the owner. Once I was able to talk to him, I told him we would like to buy one night for him and the owner said he was going to talk to him to see if he wanted to stay longer on him. So we agreed that he would ask but one night was on us. I know it’s not much but we just felt like we needed to do something for him. The owner asked if we wanted him to tell the sweet old man what we had done for him, but I said no. For it to just be a surprise gift for him. So we finished packing up our room and loaded up the car. I felt like that still wasn't enough; I just wish we had known sooner, we would have taken him to dinner or paid for a show he wanted to see. Something to make him not feel so alone. I mean who knows maybe he didn't feel that way but it just really hurt my heart for him.  I wrote a note to him real fast saying that his story touched me and that I know amazing things will come his way and that I admire his strength. I gave it to Robb to put on his door but he had already gotten in his car and we didn't want it to get blown away so I begged Robb to just hand it to him before he left. He did and the man said thank you and Robb came back to the car with tears in his eyes. So clearly this was on both of our hearts. I have tears in my eyes writing this even. I really hope he enjoys the rest of his vacation and I hope the owner was able to talk to him. I know you don’t know him and I don’t really either but any kind of prayers or happy thoughts for him would be greatly appreciated. I wish I had hugged him.

New Car, Baby, and Bruno

This weekend was pretty eventful if I do say so myself. ( and I do, because I just did) Friday night was just awful so lets just move past that night to Saturday. Saturday I got up fairly early, took a shower, then headed to the nail salon to meet my good friend Carissa! We also had breakfast at Chick Fil A before our nails, ohh wait we went to Ulta too, I needed to get shampoo and some new nail polish, so back to the nail salon, I got both a mani and pedi, Carissa just a Mani. We sat and talked for quite some time, and then she had to get back to her school work and I had to get to Baby's R Us. Which isn't very fun when everyone asks if you are pregnant and you are very much not. ( Mental note get my butt back on the treadmill) Anyhow I think i found some really cute items for my Leah. Saturday was her baby shower, it was so super cute. I am so happy for her. I really think her and Chris will be such cute parents. This little boy is going to be super super handsome! Here are a few pics from the shower and pics of the cute little items I picked up for her. I took pics because I loved the little outfits. :)
Some of the cute decorations and the pretty Momma to be.

All the cute little things from "Aunt Lacey" I cant wait to see him in some of these!

I got to see Candice too!!!

Love these girls!!!!!

and Cute Nails! YAY!

After the baby shower, I met up with Robb at Jackie Cooper Nissan to look at getting a new car for Robb. ( not me I love my car) We didn't really expect to leave with a car let alone a brand spankin new car, but we did. Its super cute, only had 43 miles on when he drove it off the lot. I hope he is excited. I know I am excited for him. I mean come on not very many people can just go and leave with a brand new car. This was after a trade in and a ton of rebates and a down payment we had been saving up but we really came out ahead. So if you want a Juke this is the month to buy one.

After all the car stuff was over we FINALLY went to dinner at Bonefish Grill (which I just love) and then I passed out as soon as we got home. It was a crazy busy day for me.

Sunday was the SuperBowl! Which was just an awful one sided game, the Broncos really let me down, I know they are better than this. It was so Sad to watch. I still love them but I was pretty upset. Like the most I have ever been for a football game. We hung out with Krystal all day too. Plus it snowed a lot! So we snapped a few pics :) Those will come later. I was pretty much passed out by the time it was time to take Krystal home so I went to bed and Robb has to take her home. Ohh and we had to get the garage cleaned out (it wasn't that messy just a lot of boxes from mom) so we could fit both cars in the there now. Its a pretty tight squeeze.
This is how we watched the game, I'm not gonna lie it was nice!

and Today, Monday, This happened!
YAY BRUNO MARS!!!!! I love him SOOOOO much!!!

I also DID get my butt on the treadmill for an hour, put away laundry, and organized
some things. I would call today a win! Ohh Plus Emily said I looked like I had lost some weight, I totally haven't but that is ALWAYS a nice thing to hear!

Until next time!
XOXO
