Cha-Cha-Changes

This past week has been one of changes and updates to the home.  Monday was Administrative assistant appreciation day, and being that I don’t really fall under that category “per-say” I felt pretty amazing when one of our closers (Katrena) acknowledged me as someone who helps her. She gave me some very pretty flowers and a thank you card. A small gesture that really made a big impact, she really is like the mother hen around her.  I of course took a picture of it.

Tuesday I guess I could actually call it “Transformation Tuesday” because I got my hair done.  When I say done I mean a pretty big change. I couldn’t be happier with it either. I took so much length off and added some blonde. I really love it. So happy with the change too, Jacque is really the best hair stylist ever. I will go back in on the 8th to get it a bit more blonde. Can’t wait!

First time I've been known to let anyone grab a handful and cut, it was fun!!
My before and after!! Love it!!

Thursday we missed dance class due to Robb’s allergies, he pretty much came home and crashed. So it was a nice little break, and getting to be lazy is always fun.  Friday, was Michael’s last “free” day before he starts his new job (today) so we went to lunch, and he brought me some beautiful flowers!

                     I love flowers!!

We went to smash burger and sat outside because it was such a nice day. And boy did I need to take that break it was such a hectic crazy day at work.  I was so glad for 5pm to finally hit. When I got home it was time to make some changes. I was just at the end of my rope for the carpet in my office. All the dogs tend to have “accidents” in there and I was just so over it. So I talked my husband in to getting out of bed and we moved everything out and tore up the carpet, pad, and tack strips.  My Knees are still hurting from crawling around on the concrete trying to get all the glue marks sanded off and sweeping up all the dirt and boy was their dirt. (So gross!) After all that was done, we rolled up the nasty carpet and pad and really just left it there for a bit. We went to Lowes to buy two ceiling fans for both of our offices and called it a night.

                    No more carpet!!

                New fan for my office

Saturday, grandma came to get me at 11am and we spent the morning together shopping and talking about her wedding, it was a really, really nice day. We went to party America to get napkins and plates and things of that nature, then to Bed Bath and beyond where I bought two more panels for our bedroom windows ( that was a year in the making) and grandma bought me this drain cover thing that will let me get my bath water deeper. That might not seem like a big deal to you but to me it’s pretty freaking awesome! (I was telling her how annoyed I was that it was so low like a week ago, she is so awesome). After that we went to the mall to get some after dinner mints for her wedding and then had lunch in the food court. (Which has changed a LOT). While we were walking out she saw the lady who sold her and Tony her Diamond earrings and wanted to say hi and look for a ring for tony.  Her name was “tootie” and she was a hoot! She cleaned our rings while we talked and I happened to notice some infinity necklaces in the case behind us, so I started looking at those. And one was so simple and pretty, I thought this couldn’t be TOO expensive and it wasn’t but before I could say anything grandma asked me if she could buy it for me as an attendant gift ( Kelly and I are her bridesmaids ). I told her she didn’t have to do that, and she said she knows and we went back and forth for a bit and then she just told “tootie” to wrap it up. I almost cried. I love it. And will wear it often.  After she dropped me off back at home, Robb was out about to take the carpet and pad to the dumpsters so I just jumped in the car with him and rode along. When we got home from that it was time to hang the first fan. I was a little skeptical that he could do it but he did all on his own and it looks great! I am pretty proud of him, or as he likes to say “You married a MAN!”  In the middle of the fan work Michael text me about coming over to Stu’s, which I had TOTALLY forgotten about. (I know I am awful) so we finished up and headed over there.  Played a few games, Michael gave us some fun gifts, Robb a shirt and me the 3rd set of TVD trading cards (nerd I know). We both took PM when we got home and slept till NOON yesterday! That almost never happens for me. Then Sunday I went with Robb while he worked at the zoo, then he hung the fan for his office. And we called it a day!

      Beautiful necklace from Grandma

                     Robb's office

Pretty nice week if ya ask me. Ohh! While we were at Lowes we also signed the contract for the new flooring for my office so now I am waiting on the call from them so we can get that scheduled. I cannot wait!!! I am thinking I want to ask them to do it in the herringbone style?! YAY for updating things in the home! I really need to focus on the outside now that it’s getting nice out again. Maybe this weekend I will try to get more of that done.

Ohh one of our bedroom windows with TWO panels now! I think it looks better. Until next time! Xoxo

TWD Location Stalkers

This past weekend, we took a very spur of the moment trip to Georgia. This was our second trip out, we went for the TVD tour, The Originals Tour and to eat at the Mystic Grill and I will post about those 3 things soon but in addition to that we also tried to find as many filming locations from The Walking Dead as we could.  Again our second time but we had a bit more freedom this go round as we started at 5pm on Saturday and looked till around 11pm before we headed home.  I have a few from last year thrown in as they were no longer there this year and I still wanted to share.  We have more pictures than this but these are the fun ones Robb worked on last night so we could put screen shots with our actual pictures. In no particular order of when we found them, Hope you enjoy!

This is Rick’s house from season one, as you can tell this one was found later in our search but still just as exciting.

This is Morgan’s home, where he helped Rick, this house was pretty close to Ricks home.

This is the “safe house” where Rick and Carol were hiding for a bit and then Rick had to sneak out when the “Claimed Gang” showed up.

And of course we had to find the Puddin house. Yes that’s what we call it.

Below are a few fun shots from “Woodbury” which is a town called Senoia actually. Between the last time we were here and this past weekend they have opened an official Walking Dead store, we were super bummed it was closed when we got there. It looked so cool. I will post a few pics from there where we were able to see in as well. Would have been so worth it to get in the store, I foresee another trip to take just the walking dead tour.

This was a pic from last year because this whole area was vacant our second go round.

The bank of Woodbury sign wasn't up this year we were lucky to catch it last year!

Some of the tracks to “Terminus” and then our most exciting and scary find TERMINUS!!!! This area was very very scary, we only stayed JUST long enough to get this shot and then off we went.  I was pretty much told to stay down in the back while the boys were looking for this location. But we think it was worth it.

We also found the CDC, which looked NOTHING like it did on the show, Hershel’s farm which we couldn’t get to because of all of the no trespassing signs but we were SOOOO close to that one.  We also drove on the road where Rick rides his horse in to Atlanta, it was a very pretty view at night. Also went by the park where "bike girl" was but it wasn't much to see at night.

We could see these doors through the glass in the down stairs part of the store.

                     Darryl's bike!!

The chair Andrea was tied to in Woodbury

One of the rooms from the prison
Here you can see the "cage" Penny was kept in and the heads the governor kept!

My sweet hubby and I in the gazebo they used right before they went into Woodbury to save Maggie and Glen!

Such a fun mini trip!! Until next time!

Xoxo

I feel so old..

Let’s just start with me finding a grey hair. I have colored my hair for a long time so this is the FIRST one I have seen personally.  On a day last week on the way to work, just driving nothing out of the ordinary and I look in my rearview mirror and OMG! What is that?! That is not a highlight…. UGH so yeah.. ..That was a super fun way to start that day. And yes I had Megan at work help me and pull it out. No more grey hair for this lady! Thank goodness I have a hair appointment soon.  I think I am going to go blonde! But we will see if I chicken out or not.

So let’s see, Friday I didn’t take a lunch and Robb had the day off. My sweet Hubby brought me a Red Bull Zero.  In fact he brought in a 4 pack which reminded me I have 3 more! SCORE!  I said the no lunch thing because it allowed me to leave work at 430. So nice on a Friday and it was BEAUTIFUL outside. Michael came by and gave me my super awesome new shirt and a blue slushee from QT. I of course had to wear as soon as I could and I did on Saturday. But back to Friday. Krystal and I had tossed the idea of going out to the caravan a few times and then decided against it only to actually end up going out. We went to Los Cabos and I got to see all my BOK buddies and we al planned to meet at the Caravan at 9. We went to pick Krystal up and practiced a few of our west coast swing moves as well before we headed out. Even Mishia went with us! I was super excited about that. Kyrstal got her buddy Wes to go and Cassidy was able to come out as well!  Then we saw several people from our class out as well. It turned out to be a great night, we closed down the bar. (Again I am too old for this)

Krystal and I with the first shot we've ever taken together. Haha it was a big deal to me

                     All the girls :)

               Love my new shirt!!

Saturday, with my super awesome shirt on, we met up with grandma to see where she is getting married and what the set up will be and where things will be going ect.. after that grandma, Ginger and Kelly all went to Vintage Market Days, which is where we were headed as well with Krystal. Robb and I stopped at moms work to grab some food first so we wouldn’t be starving while there, and it gave me time to beg Robb to come with us. And he did! The fair was cute Robb got a new shirt which is VERY him and Krystal and I grabbed some popcorn and two burlap pillow cases, I should have taken a picture of those, I will tonight and add that to this. We still need to stuff them and stich the end together but I LOVE them! After that we want to look at Krystals condo which is for sale followed by Robb’s new office, and then we went to eat at Logan’s. Robb had been promising me a steak and he delivered. We took Krystal home to nap after this and we napped as well only to wake up at 830 and head back out to the caravan again. Saturday night wasn’t as fun as Friday night but we still had a good time. YES I went out TWO nights in a ROW.  I was so tired I didn’t dance much at all. Our friend Kyle joined us this time in addition to the same people from Friday. Rob danced almost all night. I am so proud of him; he has really come out of his “I hate to dance” shell. We didn’t close down the bar but we DID stay till right after last call. I went to bed AS SOON AS we got home, I didn’t even wash the smoke out of my hair I was so super tired.

You can tell with at least me I'm running on fumes.. I was so tired.
Here are the boys of Saturday night
              And the girls again

Sunday, Krystal and I had planned on doing the No Hate Campaign pictures but then at the last minute decided against it.  So we just dressed as twinkies and had Robb snap a few “Bestie” pics and then we ate at the Simon G’s or something downtown, it was wonderful BBQ.  Went home and laid down lol.  We did SO MANY THINGS this weekend. And then if stormed like crazy so we sat out on the front porch to watch the hail come down.  I was able to spend ALL weekend with Robb too. So that was super nice. I am sure next weekend he will want to be a just him weekend but I am glad I was able to hog him all weekend.

I really feel my old lady age now. Too many things crammed into one weekend. Robb says I spread myself to thin sometimes but it almost always ends ups being worth it. Such a fun weekend, excuse me while I try to make it through the 8 hour work day so I can get back to bed. Haha Until next time XOXO!

Here is a pic of one of the pillow cases :) the other is my last name and I wasn't sure I should put that on here lol so if you know me and wanna see that one text me and I'll send it to ya!

Fast little update

Gosh it’s been awhile.  I have been seriously slacking on the blog posts. I just don’t always have something fun or exciting to say. Let’s see what has happened recently… We know Leah had her perfect little baby boy. Who is just the cutest thing ever. Robb, Kyle and I all did the Color me Rad run, which I followed up with going to Lizzi’s Baby shower.  After that Robb, Krystal and I went to see Divergent. I had just finished the book so I wanted to see it again. Which is pretty funny because Krystal and I went to see it Tuesday of that same week and then we went again on Saturday, Robb said “ So do we get to meet the four who help her” if you have read the book that is fairly funny.  Anyhow Robb liked the movie too! This past weekend Robb worked a LOT so I didn’t get to see much of him but we had a busy weekend. Friday we had a going away party for our friend Stu, he is going to Canada for 5 weeks. I also got in my very first Kickstarter game so we all played that.  Saturday I got up and got ready for Emily’s baby shower or well sprinkle it was at Nibbles. The food way great and it was a very nice get together. It was hard on me though and not because she is having a baby but because she is leaving. It makes me very sad. After the shower I picked up Robb and we went to Lowes to finish getting our quotes on new flooring. Wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. We decided that we would wait until Robb was able to see his “goal amount” in his savings before we scheduled them to come out and start on my office. Saturday night Krystal and I went to watch the Spring Swing at our Dance class building and that was a blast! We really had a lot of fun and danced a lot that night. I have the blister on my heel to prove it. I am looking forward to Thursday’s class. Grandma’s house is coming along super-fast too; she said this morning she might even be able to move in as soon as May. This would be awesome. Her house is so cute! (This is all ran together sorry about that)

What else, last night Robb got us tickets to the Move tour. Which I am super stoked about. I cannot wait to see this show. It will be like watching one of my cheesy dance movies LIVE.  Only thing that sucks is it’s on a Thursday night so we won’t be able to go to class that night.  Speaking of class Robb and I have talked about getting some private lessons, which I think will be really good for us and fun. Plus is guaranteed time together. I don’t feel like I get that much lately. Well I guess that about does it for now.  when something new and worthy of talking about comes up I will be sure to post. I am currently trying to get a nice list of wedding songs put together for grandmas wedding, Wish me luck!

Krystal and I at the movies :)
